Good idea, not-so-good implementation

I really like the idea of an app that lets you play along to this piece, but I have a few issues: (1) as a method of showing the pattern changes, the dots are more confusing than helpful; (2) on my iPhone 5s the lag is enough to register as me not keeping proper time and getting a lower score than I should.

I can actually play this piece quite expertly the way it was intended. The fact that I don’t do well with this app is more a problem with its execution than what I do with it.
